WENDY VERNON– Director of Junior School
Wendy has been teaching ballet for over 40 years and brings a wealth of experience to her position at Pacific Dance Centre.
Her background in theatre, as well as her ballet training in the Royal Academy of Dancing style enables her to bring the world of the stage and performance alive for her young students.
A mother of four Wendy has been influenced by her experience as a mother. “It changed my focus as a teacher entirely when I had my own children. I began to see my role as encouraging the young people to focus, to strive to be better, respect each other and to follow their natural curiosity: look deeper into the art of dance. Very few are going to dance professionally – and that is not their goal. At PDC we provide training at a high level so that, if they so desire, that option is always open to them but for most the training provides life long memories of performing on Victoria’s stages in beautiful costumes, of learning what it means to be a good team player, respect for and a deep and profound love of, an exquisite form of dance.”
